About us...

Lean Six Sigma is a process improvement program directly linked to improved customer satisfaction and corporate productivity.  Many corporations employing the Lean Six Sigma training methodology report higher profits, improved quality, enhanced customer satisfaction and effective cultural change.

Since 1997 Six Sigma Integration, Inc., a Providence/ Boston area consulting firm has worked with organizations of every size to transform client’s business visions into best practices. We have trained and coached more than 2,000 Lean Six Sigma professionals to certification while ensuring the integrity of the program, compliance to the approved methodologies, and proper tool usage to ensure that root causes of quality problems were addressed.

In our hands-on approach to consulting, we helped clients to deliver fundamental and sustainable improvements to their business processes to improve productivity across industries such as energy, oil and gas, financial services, aerospace, controls, engineered materials, consumer electronics, automotive, measurement systems, fluid handling, and consumer products across the world.

We have helped clients develop leadership skills and competencies such as critical thinking, change management, innovation and program self-sufficiency by driving continuous improvement and optimizing project alignment to eliminate non-value added activities.

Also, if you currently have a Lean Six Sigma deployment underway, we can provide advice on how to improve your project selection, training and project execution. Your Lean Six Sigma program should be adding between 1% to 4% to your organization's productivity.

We are a leading thought leader within the Lean Six Sigma community....These are our recent books....

Lean Six Sigma for Supply Chain Management

Lean Six Sigma for Supply Chain Management teaches business managers how to apply the tenets of Lean operations (from the Toyota Production System) and Six Sigma management principles to supply chain management. The tools, methods and concepts presented in the book provide a concise Lean Six Sigma supply chain reference for champions, managers, black belts, green belts, lean experts as well as supply chain professionals. Practical examples of Lean Six Sigma applications for supply chain management are provided throughout the book including a detailed discussion of strategies to improve asset utilization and reduce inventory investment.

Operational Excellence: Using Lean Six Sigma to Translate Customer Value through Global Supply Chains

Operational Excellence has been written to help operations managers, process improvement experts such as Lean experts and Six Sigma “belts” in manufacturing and service organizations to improve their organizational productivity by bringing together leading edge tools, methods and concepts to provide people with a one source reference to immediately improve their organization’s quality, productivity and customer service operations. Major themes of the book include the alignment of operational strategy with business goals and objectives, the design of systems to meet customer needs and expectations, management of system capacity and continuous improvement of system performance over time using Lean and Six Sigma methods.

Lean Six Sigma for the Office

Historically, the integration of manufacturing methodologies into the office environment has proven to be problematic. Part of the difficulty lies in the fact that process workflows tend to be globally dispersed and rely heavily on information technology. Within complex service systems containing employees, consultants, and technology systems, Lean methods such as 5S and mistake proofing have been shown to reduce cycle time, cost and improve quality.  This book also emphasizes the importance of the strategic alignment of Kaizen events as well as the impact of organizational culture on process improvement activities. Latter chapters in the book discuss key elements of a change model in the context of continuous improvement activities. By applying the proven principles found in this book, effective and sustainable organizational change can be achieved by your organization.

Measuring and Improving Performance- Information Technology Applications in Lean Systems

This book was written to provide Lean and Six Sigma  improvement experts with an introduction to the basic concepts, tools and methods which information technology (IT) practitioners have developed to manage their projects and develop software systems. The reason this subject is so important is that production systems rely to an increasingly greater degree on IT systems and Lean systems could more efficiently deployed using both IT and Lean tools and methods. This has been true for manufacturing systems for a long time, but, it is especially true for service systems. Since Lean practitioners will invariably participate in IT projects to automate their processes, it is important that they understand the similarities as well as differences between IT and Lean project management and software design as they impact Lean and Six Sigma operations.
